What do we do and whom do we support?

At Empower with Purpose, we support individuals 18 and over who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. We support individuals in creating individualized goals to enhance their life skills. We then follow by supporting them in reaching those goals. In addition, we encourage community inclusiveness while fostering interdependence. All support is provided in the community and the individual’s home on a one-to-one basis.

Our Mission

Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn and enhance their skills in all aspects of their lives, and our mission is to support individuals every step of the way. We begin this process by teaching basic living skills, supporting inclusiveness in the community, and promoting self-advocacy. Having these skills are key to maximizing the potential and quality of life for the individuals we support. Everyone deserves to live meaningful lives.

Our Vision

We strongly believe in supporting individuals with not only participating fully in their own life but managing and taking control of their own lives. As adults, we manage our lives by the decisions we make. This should be the norm for everyone in our society, regardless of their disabilities. We believe in teaching and encouraging self-advocacy and empowering individuals in everything that they do. Everyone has challenges in particular areas where they need more support in particular areas; what makes individuals we support any different? They are not. We all rely on one another and the communities we are surrounded by in one way or another.

Meet Our Director

Elizabeth Jimenez has been in the field of developmental disabilities since 2013. She started in Supported Living and Parenting services as a 1:1 Support coach. She then transitioned to a 1:1 Tailored Service instructor and Program Coordinator, supporting students with disabilities in college. In 2021, she created Empower with Purpose LLC to help inspire and support adults with disabilities, assert their independence and advocate for themselves in the world.
